In the "Why Neurology" session, you will have the opportunity to connect with residents and young Neurologists, who have recently survived the challenges of Neurology residency. They will share insights into their experiences working in neurology and provide valuable perspectives on this fascinating medical specialty. 

This session is designed to be interactive, allowing you to ask the speakers any questions you may have about pursuing a career in neurology, academia, residency training, and more. Whether you are considering neurology as your future path or simply looking to learn more about the field, this session aims to provide you with valuable information and guidance for your upcoming journey.

Loes van Boxmeer

Loes became a neurology resident at the University Medical Centre Utrecht in the Netherlands. She followed in-depth training in movement disorders and neuro-oncology. Additionally, she worked as a researcher on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. International experience was gained when she worked in Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania for several months. She became a resident board member of the Dutch Neurology association and the Dutch representative in the Residents and Research Fellows section of the EAN.

Currently, she is a neurologist of the future, driven by self-development, improvement of neurological care, innovation of medical education, and strong teamwork to provide excellent neurological care to patients.
